Who are the only 7 recruitment companies in Thailand that can brag about being on the world’s Top 40 list?

You, too, will be surprised to see this list of international recruitment groups that are present in Thailand.

Hunt Scanlon reviewed an exhaustive list of global recruiting providers and culled it down to the 2024 top 40 global talent providers that now dominate the recruiting business worldwide. Analysts have examined each provider in great detail and have come away with a list that we believe captures the best global search firms that can satisfy your most sensitive recruitment needs.

Hunt Scanlon Media is a market research firm and the most widely referenced source for information in the human capital sector.

At the time of publishing this article (October 2024), only the following 7 recruitment firms (alphabetic order) from Hunt Scanlon’s Top 40 list were present in Thailand.

  • Boyden   74 global offices
  • Cornerstone (CGP)   60 global offices
  • Horton International   43 global offices
  • IIC Partners (Jackson Grant)   40 global offices
  • Korn Ferry   150 global offices
  • NPAworldwide (Tom Sorensen)   553 global offices
  • Transearch   60 global offices

Were you expecting to see famous recruitment brands like Egon Zehnder, Heidrick, Russell Reynolds, and Spencer Stuart on the list?

Well, all four are, of course, on Hunt Scanlon’s Top 40 list, but they are not represented in Thailand.

Excuse me, NPAworldwide – say again!

NPAworldwide might not yet be a household name in Thailand, but it’s a force to be reckoned with.

The partnership with NPAworldwide allows us instant access to proven recruiters in many different industries. There are 550 offices worldwide, 150 of which are in Asia.

Each of the 6 NPAworldwide offices in Thailand is registered with the Ministry of Commerce and Ministry of Labour and therefore has its own legal entity name. In alphabetical order:

  • ADI Resourcing
  • APlus Career
  • BMS Recruitment
  • Gemini Personnel
  • Omni International

It’s hard to believe and almost unreal that NPAworldwide alone has an incredible 553 offices.

Talk about being global, regional, and local at the same time.

Who is licensed to recruit in Thailand?

According to the list available on the Department of Employment website (under the Ministry of Labour), there are hundreds of licensed recruitment firms in Thailand, both local and international.

The Employment and Job Seekers’ Protection Act is the law in Thailand that regulates the business of a recruitment company.

  • Like the license from TAT (Tourism Authority of Thailand under the Ministry of Tourism and Sports) to operate a travel agency in Thailand.
  • It is similar to the approval by the FDA (Thai Food and Drug Administration under the Ministry of Public Health) for importers of medicines.
  • And, many other government bodies issue licenses to companies operating in various industries or businesses.

A recruitment license is issued by the Department of Labour and must be renewed every two years.

The domestic license allows licensed recruiters to help their clients hire candidates for jobs in Thailand and Thailand only.

The international recruitment license is issued to job brokers who send Thai people to jobs overseas, such as construction in Taiwan, berry pickers in Finland, or maids in the Middle East.
